Fall Festival!!!

Fall is most definitely here, the weather has been chilly and the days have grown shorter. Eden's daycare held a fall festival where the kids got the chance to dress in the Halloween costumes and parade up and down the hall.
All of the parents in Eden's class were there and so we had a little party after the parade.
The party was kind of during snack time...can you tell who was in need of some milk and cookies?
Peace?  was restored once they had something in their belly.  It was funny to see just how much they swap food and drink cups.  Three of us parents were there taking cups from our kid and returning them to their proper owner....we were moving non-stop.  I think the teachers enjoyed seeing us work so hard at keeping things straight.  We definitely got a glimpse into what goes on during the day when we're not there.   CONSTANT is the word that comes to mind.  These toddlers never stop moving and are constantly getting into things!!
At the table was Jack, Caitlin, Eden and Joshua.

During the parade, we stopped in on a few of our friends in other classes.  Eden was particularly happy to see her buddy Patrick.  She gets really excited when she sees him, actually, they BOTH get excited when they see each other.  Puppy Love??

Cheesesteak, sausage, fries, elephant ears...oh my!

Well, we made it to the State Fair on the last day.  We got there early and spent some time seeing all of the animals, which Eden really, really enjoyed.
After seeing the animals, we rode the carousel.
Eden was really excited to ride the carousel.  So, after we stuffed ourselves for lunch we rode a different carousel.
We ended the trip out with seeing more animals and topping our bellies off with a cinnamon sugared elephant ear.  A good time was had by all!

Ken's Korny Corn Maze

Ever since we moved into our house in 2003, I have been wanting to go through the corn maze at Ken's Nursery down the road.  Until this year, I really didn't have a good excuse to go.  I was SO THRILLED to find that Eden really enjoyed the corn maze and all of the other things they had going on in the big field.
That's the cutest little pig I've ever seen!

Eden was everywhere...
Checking EVERYTHING out!
So the corn maze was actually quite big.  They give you these big flags on long poles for you to carry in case you get lost.  I actually thought that was silly until some big black clouds rolled in and I started to worry that it would start storming while we were running around lost in the corn maze.  I thought it was cute...the flag Cam picked out.  So manly.
Eden spent a lot of the time in the maze running around by herself.
We actually let Eden lead the way in the  beginning.  We had no idea that there really wasn't any room for mistakes, the corn field was HUGE...we spent at least 30 min trying to find our way out!!!
They had a few stands set up in the middle of the field so you could "cheat" and see where you needed to go.
A great day, I think Eden could have spent more time at the pumpkin patch...if only it hadn't started raining!

I think all of the running around the corn maze made Eden especially hungry tonight!  I could not give her enough BROCCOLI to eat!!!  That's MY girl!!!

A trip to Grandma and Grandpa's house

Eden and I had a short but sweet trip to see Grandma and Grandpa Budde.  Cam was in Charlotte for the NASCAR race, so it was just us girls visiting.
Eden was into EVERYTHING, she loved playing with Grandpa's golf balls...
She tickled the ivories with Grandma....

And left behind sweet prints on ALL of Grandma's windows...
Eden ate all of her meals in MY old high chair.  I couldn't believe she fit into it...it seemed so small in comparison to her huge highchair at home (which includes three different safety straps which are absent on my old chair!)
You can hear for yourself how well Eden plays the piano :D

Eden is an animal lover

A Walkin' Talkin' One Year Old

Eden attended her second wedding this year, we went to Leesburg, VA for Scott and Mandy's wedding ceremony and reception.  Kari, Brian, Dylan and Olivia flew out for the wedding from Seattle, WA.  It was the first time Eden and Olivia had the opportunity to meet each other and play.  Olivia and Eden are 5 months apart, Olivia is almost 7 months right now.

Eden seemed to enjoy the wedding reception, she investigated just about every nook and cranny of the Country Club.
