Happy Father's Day Daddy!!

We all had a really nice time on Father's Day this year.  We spent the day playing in and around the pool and ended the day enjoying a wonderful BBQ dinner with family.  Eden spent a lot of time with her Daddy playing in the pool.
Megan and Brian, Amy and Tim and Cronin all came over to Papa and GGs house to celebrate Father's Day together.
Eden was particularly happy that Megan brought Aniken.  He made her laugh...a LOT.
Amy and Tim bought Papa a really nice swing for the backyard.
We all enjoyed swinging in it!
Happy Father's Day, Papa!

Behind Bars....
Eden is pulling up on EVERYTHING now.
She really hates the fact that she is gated out of areas.

Race for the Cure!

We were excited to see Brian this past week.  He came out from Seattle to do a little business and also to have a little fun.  We can't wait to meet his new little girl, Olivia!

Aunt Amy, Eden and I participated in the race for the cure for breast cancer this year.  It was Amy's first 5K!
Eden and I ran in celebration of my Mom who is a >20 year survivor.
Amy ran in memory of Jan Swenson.

It was a huge event, they reported 22,700 runners and raised well over 2 million dollars!!!  There were so many runners and we had to walk the first mile.  It was hard to get around everyone!!
It was a great race and wonderful to cross the finish line with Amy!
Eden was awake for most of the race, but you can see in this picture that she had fallen asleep by the time we crossed the finish line!
A great day, can't wait to do it again next year!!

Daytime fun

Eden is really enjoying going to school these days. I really don't think she minds being dropped off there in the morning, not even one little bit. For instance, this morning I couldn't even get her attention to say goodbye. When I finally did, I think she was surprised that I was still there. I have noticed that she has started to pick up certain behaviors from the other kids, like different sounds of whining...
She is however, picking up good things too. Such as pulling up to standing and eating school food in the highchair.
Yesterday, Erika asked me (seriously) if I had ever seen wood chips in
Eden's diaper....Apparently, she eats the woodchips out on the playground. Good grief.

Silly girl!

First tooth!

Well, we can hardly believe it....we have been blaming every bad mood, rotten night's sleep and lack of appetite on this for the past 6 months and it has finally arrived. Eden's first tooth.

No pictures of it yet, I only got a slight glimpse of it myself. Both Cam and I felt it though, a very sharp front left bottom tooth (her left). If I had to tag one symptom, it would be her holding her head at times, like she had a bad headache or was pondering the troubles she saw that day. She may have not eaten so well as she had been the past day or two, but it's not like the time she was on a hunger strike for 5 days, so I can't really complain about that so much.

More to come later, as soon as the little bugger really makes it's appearance.

On another note, great weekend...lots of work done inside and outside the house. Eden watched us work in the yard from her playpen--netted playpen, of course. No buggies for her! Daddy got enough buggies for everyone. He and Bella got attacked by a hive of yellow jackets. Poor guys.
P.S. Eden finally figured out how to clap her hands!! So cute!

Pictures from 'school'

Eden is really enjoying her "school" these days. Now that Eden is crawling, she has become part of the pack of boys that are all over the classroom, causing chaos and wreaking havic. Eden especially enjoys being with her teacher, Erika, who is kind enough to send us pictures every other week or so.
One note about these pictures, Eden is not dressed in the clothes we sent her to school in, which has been an increasingly often occurance these days. Part of it is that Eden is not a neat eater and the other part of it is, well, I'm sure you can guess what is happening. Anyhow, the pictures below I noticed she isn't wearing any pants. This was the day that they said Rita could not pin her down to put her clothes on her after she had been changed.

Trip to Fort Wayne, IN

Eden and I took our first trip together, to visit family in Fort Wayne, IN. It turned out that Eden is a great traveler and now has four flights under her traveling belt. She was pretty entertaining on the planes, she was watching everyone very curiously and even flirted with a few people. She made a friend with a woman sitting behind us who was generous enough to play peek-a-boo with her during a few moments when Eden was getting restless. There is one thing we will never travel without from now on, and that is the DVD player stocked with Baby Einstein videos.
Eden enjoyed sitting in her portable highchair at Bernadette and Jack's kitchen counter. She also had a lot of fun spending time with her cousin, Drake, who she had not seen since Christmas. By the second day we were there, Eden had learned the dog's name, Lilly. Eden LOVED watching and following Lilly around. I don't think the feeling of camaraderie was mutual.

We did a lot of fun things while we were in Fort Wayne....

We went shopping....

We ate lots of good food and drank nice drinks....
Eden pulled up to standing for the first time and has been enjoying "walking". (By the way, the quality of these pictures are horrible because they're the ones I took on my phone. I am waiting (patiently) for family members to send me their photos..hint, hint!!).

She also started calling me Mama and had her first nightmare (the night after the first day of flying).

Most of us went to the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo on Saturday. Eden got to ride a carousel, watch the monkies, penguins and even seemed to be intrigued by a big green snake!

After the zoo, we hung out on Bernadette and Jack's awesome back porch. We had a great time grilling out that night and even got in a few rounds of Catch Phrase while sitting underneath the stars. What a great time we had!!

Memorial Day with Anne and Ray!

Anne and Ray came to the US to attend a friend's wedding. We were fortunate they had some free time in their schedule to come and BBQ with us by the pool on Memorial Day. Cam spent the day cooking on the smoker, he made smoked chicken wings, ribs, tuna and salmon. We had a nice supper outside by the pool.

Chris took pictures on his fancy phone and shared them with us.
