Happy Mother's Day!

Over the hill and through the woods, to Grandmother's house we go!
We made the trip to Mom's for Mother's Day this year. We thought we were prepared, but alas, we were not. The weather is so finicky this time of year. It's 80 degrees during the day, but mornings are chilly. I forgot to pack anything to wear in cool weather. Cam ended up borrowing some OLD clothes :) This sweatshirt is circa 1986. I believe that was the year we went to Aspen.
Eden was a BIG help this year. She helped mom in the garden...
She also helped clean out the barn. We found a MOUSE in the barn! It was so very exciting, she went running out to the big barn to tell Grandpa. After all, he was the one who told her to keep on the lookout for a little mouse.
"Grandpa, Grandpa, there is a MOUSE!"
She grabbed his hand and led him back to the barn so he could see.
So cute.
When we got home, Eden put her flip flops on her doll. I discovered this Monday morning while I was getting ready for work. She is a good little Mommy.
The best gift of all was Eden singing me her Mother's Day Song.

"Mommy, Mommy, Let me say, have a Happy Mother's Day
I love you for being you,
I love you for all you do,
Mommy, Mommy, Let me say, Have a Happy Mother's Day!"

I most certainly did.
This is a link to the video of her singing me the precious song.

Cinco de Mayo!

Happy May!
We have been working hard in the yard, but playing hard too. Eden got to go to a Cinco de Mayo party, boy did she have fun!

Camping at the beach for Mommy's birthday!

My birthday fell on Easter this year, so we decided to make the most of the long weekend and head to the beach! It was our intention to camp in the bus, but unfortunately we couldn't get it registered in time for the trip. Oh well, we decided to rent a cabin and go anyways.
After spending the day at the beach on Topsail Island, we headed to Wilmington to set up camp.
Our campsite had a lot to offer, there was a pool, playground, dog park and there was a live band playing that night on a stage too!
Cam grilled steaks, potatoes and broccoli on the grill. What a feast!
Eden loved the cabin, there was a set of bunk beds which she loved climbing up on.
Bella loved the fact she could get away from all of the carpenter bees outside.
We had our own big bed, so we were all comfortable.
The front porch had a nice swing too!
What the heck?! She just took a bite out of my beach chair!
After spending the morning on Wrightsville beach and having an outdoor lunch on the intercoastal waterway, we headed home. Boy oh boy, were we beat.
Cam made another fabulous meal and Eden sang happy birthday to me.
What a beautiful weekend!

NC Zoo

I can't believe I didn't create a post for our trip to the NC zoo in Ashboro. Facebook is too easy too post, so I think all of the pictures and commentary ended up there rather than on the blog.
Better late than never....
This gorilla that is behind Eden was massive! It came walking from across the field right up to the window where Eden was standing. She took one look at it and exclaimed, "Oh my LORD!". She made the crowd giggle as she kept looking at the gorilla and repeating, "Oh my LORD!".
We had such a great time at the zoo, we saw all kinds of animals and even got to ride on a trolley. Can't wait to go back!!

Happy Easter!

What a wonderful long Easter weekend we had this year. Eden's class had a Spring Fling party Thursday afternoon to kick off the long weekend.
There was an egg hunt followed by yummy snacks.
On our day off, we dyed and decorated eggs.

Saturday, we packed up the car and the dog and headed to the beach. We went to Topsail for the day so that Bella could play in the waves. Eden had fun making a sand castle on the beach.

That evening, we checked into our cabin. Our cabin had a bunk bed, which Eden liked playing on. The campsite had a big playground, a dog park and swimming pool. They even had a live band that evening!
We grilled steaks on the fire for dinner, roasted marshmellows and hung out with friends by the fire to celebrate Mommy's birthday.
What a fabulous and memorable weekend!

Eden-isms

Eden has been keeping us laughing these days. She repeats EVERYTHING and she has impeccable timing.

Upon hitting a wall of traffic on the highway, "Damn people, get out of the way of Mommy's car!"

Whenever we try a little to hard to get her to do something we get a, "Relax!"

This one made me laugh really hard. I was giving her a bath and she was drinking the bath water.
Me: Eden stop drinking the water, that is yucky!
Eden: Relax Mom! I'm already done!

Three Little Birds came on to the radio on the ride home one day.
Me: Eden, who is this?
Eden: Bob Marley!
Eden: Mommy, make it LOUD!!

The other day while we were driving home, I let out a big sigh.
Eden: What's wrong Mommy?
Me: Oh, I had a crazy day.
Eden: Me too!
Me: Really?
Eden: Yeah, it was VERY sunny!
